Our iPads usually have an annual update that tweaks the operating system and some of the apps. The latest is no different except that there are 250 changes! That’s a lot of new information to take in. Needless to say, this course does not discuss all 250. Instead, we chose features that many folks use regularly. For example, we created two videos to cover the many Photos app changes because so many people use this app to organize and edit their images. View and review these videos at your own pace and in the order that you want. We suggest you stop after an explanation and try out a new feature. Perhaps you’ll want to combine a couple of options. Some may take a little practice in order for you to use them effortlessly.

Personalization. There are several new, unique features in iPad OS 18 that allow you to personalize your iPad. You will learn how to change the tint and size of your app icons, extract a color from one image and use it in another, animate your texts, and control your screen with your eye.
Siri. Siri remains your digital personal assistant and now has additional skills. One example is that you can type your request for Siri. Also, Siri can provide information related to conversations you have when texting.
Photos App Part 1. There has been a restructuring the organization of the Photos app. There are new categories and a rearrangement of several long term features. There’s a lot to learn! You will want to master navigating these change. Also included in this video is how you can personalize this app, and tag people and pets.
Photos App Part 2. A really cool new feature is that you can erase unwanted objects when editing your photos. Also, understand how to search an image using a variety of strategies. Now you can turn any album into a movie as well as check on the various actions you have taken with a particular album.
Privacy and Security. Learn where to find your passwords—they have moved. Also, there are additional options in Settings you will want to explore. Now, you can can lock apps if you allow someone to borrow your iPad. Finally, you want to stay current with security updates.
Apple Intelligence/Writing Tools. Apple Intelligence or artificial intelligence is integrated through many iPad features. Maps now includes hiking trails, you can see summaries of your emails, and Writing Tools may change the way you compose.
